Veteran Ambassador

Dale McKenzie

Adapt Gateway are delighted to announce that Dale McKenzie has become the most recent ambassador to the charity. Passionate about military veterans mental health and wellbeing, in 2020 he co-founded The Light Dragoons Peer Support Group (LDPSG) a military veterans peer to peer support group for past and present members of his former unit The Light Dragoons.

As a Light Dragoon, Dale served for almost 24 years, completing several operational tours of the Balkans, Iraq and lastly as a Squadron Sergeant Major in Afghanistan. Having left the Army in 2012 and simultaneously graduating from St Andrews University with a Masters Degree in Terrorism Studies, Dale has spent the past decade in Risk and Crisis Management roles around the world. He currently works For Bloomberg in this capacity, based out of London.

“I am honoured to have been asked to be an ambassador for ADAPT GATEWAY” said  Dale, 48, from Barnsley. “Driven by a desire to stop suicide within the military community, my role in ADAPT will be a continuum of ongoing efforts, that assist military veterans to smash through the barriers of Stigma and shame associated with mental health, and to encourage their peers to seek professional assistance at the earliest opportunity.”
